Bequest Language
The official legal bequest language for The University of Texas-Pan American is:
"I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System (“Board of Regents”) for the use and benefit of The University of Texas-Pan American [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose."
Please contact Cecilia A. Johnson at 956-665-2352 or cajohnson@utpa.edu to request samples of alternative bequest language. Other bequest language may be more appropriate, for example, when you wish to establish an endowment, restrict the use of your bequest, or to bequeath real estate to the University.
