Carol Jean Posner is a retired LAPD Officer and PH patient of more than eight years. She wants to see PH conquered. To that end, she asked her attorney to name PHA as a remainder beneficiary of her living trust to support research to find a cure. This is in addition to a generous gift that she makes each year.
Carol Jean is often fatigued and wears a Flolan pump. Yet, she still finds the energy for horseback riding and swimming. She is involved in her local PH support groups and helps other patients around the country find custom dive boxes to keep their pumps dry during watersports.
Back when her doctor gave her the diagnosis of PH, he said, "this is like telling somebody that they have cancer." He gave her less than two years to live. Eight and a half years later, Carol Jean is still fighting. Through the peer-reviewed research awards that Carol Jean and other generous individuals are supporting, we are working together towards a cure.
