The Circle of 1848: Muhlenberg College's Planned Gift Society
Since its founding in 1989, the Circle of 1848 has had a substantial impact on the quality of learning Muhlenberg offers its students. Membership is open to all Muhlenberg alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends who name the College as a beneficiary in their estate plan, through their will, life insurance policy, trust, or retirement plan. Legacy gifts from Circle members have a substantial impact on the quality of learning Muhlenberg offers its students, and ensure the continued vitality and development of the College from one generation to the next.
Members of the Circle of 1848 understand the critical need to strengthen Muhlenberg's future by providing gifts that will support the endowment, a perpetual fund whose income provides essential support for all aspects of the College including scholarship and financial aid assistance, endowed professorships, academic support, instructional technology, library resources, laboratory equipment, and academic facilities.
In addition to the satisfaction of helping Muhlenberg students, members receive a lapel pin, the society's "Growing the Circle" newsletter, listing in various College publications and invitations to annual events of recognition.
