Mort Lippman Makes Commitment to St. Vincent de Paul
For Mort Lippman, charity began at home. "In my home, we always observed tzedakah (a Hebrew word for charity). It was an important part of our Jewish faith that obligated us to perform charitable works. There was always a blue & white tzedakah can in our house that we put our pennies in. We took it to the synagogue on Saturday to help those in need."

An Unusual Bequest
Some of our supporters leave bequests to the Society of specific amounts or a fraction of their estates. Some may choose to perpetuate their annual gifts to us by a bequest of endowment (permanent fund) of twenty times or more their annual gifts during life so that the income each year after they die will roughly duplicate their annual gift.
