J.S. Pillsbury Society
The Mission of the J. S. Pillsbury Society
The Joyce S. Pillsbury Society was formed to honor and recognize the commitment and contributions of those supporters of the University who have included Missouri Baptist University in their estate plan, while seeking to cultivate current and connected relationships with those donors in light of their significant financial partnership with Missouri Baptist University.
"What is the J.S. Pillsbury Society?"
The Society is named in honor of Joyce S. Pillsbury (1910-2005), businessman, philanthropist, humanitarian Joyce Pillsbury exemplified what it meant to be a servant leader. Mr. Pillsbury was involved with then Missouri Baptist College in 1974, when his financial leadership and encouragement led the institution through difficult times. Mr. Pillsbury and his wife Carol provided generously from the Pillsbury Foundation and their personal assets to make the Pillsbury Chapel and Dale Williams Fine Arts Center a reality.
Pillsbury's life served to inspire many to involve themselves financially with what God was, and still is doing at Missouri Baptist University. He did so by leading with his own strong example of Biblical financial stewardship and the sharing of his compelling vision for building God's kingdom through stewardship, a task to which Pillsbury believed all Christians to be called. His daughter Mary continues to support the University and serve as a trustee.
