Learn More
We hope our website has answered many of your questions about naming Trinity College in your will or living trust. Here are some actions to take to learn more about this flexible way to support our mission in the future.

  • Download a free guide about passing on your values through your will or living trust.
  • Just a few sentences in your will or trust are all that is needed. Incorporating a gift to Trinity in your Will is easily arranged as either a provision in a newly executed will or trust or as a separate codicil to an existing will or trust.  Your counsel is the final authority with respect to the form and the execution of your estate planning documents.

    • One can make a pecuniary bequest:

    • To The Trustees of Trinity College, located in Hartford, Connecticut (percentage or dollar amount) for the general educational purposes of the College.
    • Or for a specific endowed purpose, for example:

    • To The Trustees of Trinity College, located in Hartford, Connecticut (percentage or dollar amount) to establish or augment the (Name) Scholarship Endowment, income only, as defined by the Trustees, to support qualified students attending Trinity College.
    • One can contribute a residuary bequest, a percentage of the residue of one's estate:

    • I give the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, and wherever situated to The Trustees of Trinity College, located in Hartford, Connecticut {(for general educational purposes), or (to establish or augment the (Name) Scholarship Endowment, income only from the fund, as defined by the Trustees, to support the education costs of qualified students attending Trinity College)}.
    • One can include a contingent bequest, too:

In the event that no spouse, issue, siblings, sibling's issue, or parents survive me, I give the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, and wherever situated to The Trustees of Trinity College, located in Hartford, Connecticut.
    • One can make a specific bequest of certain property:

I give my painting of Sunflowers by van Gogh to the Trustees of Trinity College, located in Hartford, Connecticut for the general educational purposes of the College.
