Legacy Society

MU's Office of Gift Planning and Endowments offers the Legacy Society as one way to thank the valued donors who have made a gift for the future through planned and estate gifts.

Membership in the MU Legacy Society is open to any individual who has made provisions for MU through a variety of estate planning tools such as bequests in a will or trust, charitable remainder trusts, pooled income funds or gifts of life insurance. Members of this recognition society receive periodic updates on University news and a certificate of membership.

Donors who have included the University in their estate plans should notify the Office of Gift Planning and Endowments. It's the only way MU will know about the gifts and be able to say "thank you." Recognition of one gift may well inspire generosity in others.

Letting MU know of their intentions does not create any obligation on the donors' part, but it does help MU tailor communications to their particular interests and inform them of developments at MU which may be relevant to their planned gifts.

However, if a donor chooses to remain anonymous, be assured that MU will honor those wishes.
