The UC San Diego York Society

The UC San Diego York Society acknowledges individuals who provide essential philanthropic support for the university through planned gifts. This special group is named in honor of Herb York, founding chancellor of the university, professor, world-renowned physicist and ambassador for peace. Membership belongs to those who have made a deferred gift to the University of California, San Diego through one or more of the following methods:

• Provision in their will or revocable trust.
  
  
• Life income gift (charitable gift annuity, pooled income fund, charitable remainder trust or charitable lead trust).
  
  
• Retirement plan beneficiary designation.
  
  
• Life insurance policy beneficiary designation.
  
  
• Life estate gift (remainder interest in real property)
  

To become a member of the UC San Diego York Society, simply notify the UC San Diego Office of Gift Planning of your intentions. We can provide sample bequest language for inclusion in your will or trust, or otherwise assist you with a plan that meets your philanthropic and financial goals.

One optional benefit of membership is the listing of your name on the official UC San Diego York Society Honor Roll, which may be published from time to time in connection with special university events and publications. If you prefer to remain anonymous, we are happy to honor your wishes.

Members of the York Society are honored alongside York for their generosity and visionary leadership, and their crucial role in ensuring the continued success of the premier university that York helped to establish. We welcome the opportunity to recognize those who are helping to make the future possible.
