The Summit Circle is the American Diabetes Association's planned giving honor society that acknowledges donors who have included the Association as a beneficiary in their estate plans including wills, trusts, retirement plans and life insurance policies. Through a planned gift to the Association, you will help us prevent this disease and find a cure while improving the quality of life for all people with diabetes and their families. Here are just a few ways of giving that can also help you:

Charitable Bequests
A charitable bequest is a gift of property or a sum of money given through your will. A charitable bequest gives you the pleasure of knowing that those same possessions that brought you so much joy will continue to enhance the lives of others.

Life Insurance
Gifts of life insurance are an excellent way to support ADA. You may name ADA as the owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, which is no longer needed for its intended purpose. You can take an immediate federal tax deduction for the approximate cash value of the donated policy. ADA will immediately begin to receive the dividends from the policy and will ultimately receive the insurance proceeds as well.

Life Income Gifts
Your hard-earned assets may be able to work even harder for you by giving them away. A life-income gift is a creative way to provide income, reduce your estate's taxes, and contribute to ADA. The following gifts can provide income during your lifetime, while creating a more favorable tax situation for you:

Charitable Gift Annuity
Charitable Annuity Trust
Charitable Remainder Unitrust
Charitable Lead Trust
Donor Advised Fund
Life Estate Gift
Revocable Trust
