Suggested Bequest Language

Since our founding in 1856, the University of Maryland College Park has gratefully benefited from the thoughtful bequests via their wills or trusts of alumni, faculty, parents, and other friends. Below is suggested bequest language for use by donors and advisors.

"I give, devise, and bequeath to the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, a tax-exempt organization located at 2119 Main Administration Building, College Park, MD 20742, (state percentage of estate, or residue or sum of money, or otherwise describe property) to support its general (or state specific) purposes."

[If the bequest will support an endowed fund at the University of Maryland, and if a Memorandum of Understanding is in place, we ask that the following language be added: "...to be administered under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding on file with the Foundation and the University."]
